OptiView RealTime Commands:

Additional conversion and editing options are added after the account number separated by semi-colons:

SRC="http://cache.c.optiview.com/:654321;width=75:/www.mysite.com/image.jpg"

The options are performed in the order shown on this page:

Timeout: ;to=60
By default, the original image on your server is checked for changes every 24 hours. You can specify a different value in minutes.

Grayscale: ;grayscale
Convert from full color to grayscale.

Rotate: ;rotate=90 ;rotate=180 ;rotate=270
Rotates the image clockwise 90, 180, or 270 degrees.

Flip: ;flip=tb ;flip=lr
Flip the image top to bottom, or left to right.

Crop: ;cr_t=10 ;cr_b=20 ;cr_r=30 ;cr_l=40
Crop pixels off the top, bottom, left, and right of the image.

Absolute Resize: ;width=100 ;height=100
Resize to an exact pixel size. If only height or width is specified, the resize is done proportionally.

Differential Resize: ;width=a100 ;height=s100
Resize by adding (a prefix) or subtracting (s prefix) a number of pixels.

Percentage Resize: ;width=200p ;height=25p
Resize by percentage of the original size.

Differential Percentage Resize: ;width=a200p ;height=s25p
Resize by adding or substracting a percentage of the original size.

Minimum and Maximum Resize: ;width=min200 ;height=max400
Resize to a specified limit if the image is outside the limit. Note that minimum is applied first.

Complex Resize: ;width=a50pmin200max400
You can combine the resize options in the order "change," "minimum," "maximum." This instruction says: Add 50 percent to the existing width, making sure the image is at least 200 pixels wide but not more than 400 pixels wide, and since the height is not specified make sure it is resized proportionally.

Matte Resize: ;matte=50 ;matte=auto
A reduction is done, centering the image and filling in the edges to create an image with a "matte" around it. A percentage of the image size between 1 and 100 can be specified, or "auto" can be used. "auto" will reduce the image to 50% for 14.4K modem users, 67% for 28.8K modem users, and 75% for 56K modem users.

Resize Focus: ;focus=1 ;focus=5
Override automatic sharpness/smoothing control. 1 is very smooth, 5 is very sharp.

Frame Width and Height: ;fwidth=320 ;fheight=200
After all that resizing, you may still want to crop or pad the image to fit an exact size on the page. This will ensure the final image is an exact size for the screen. If cropping is required, the center of the image is kept. Padding is distributed equally to all sides.

Adjust White: ;ca_ws=255 ;ca_ws=-255
Specify the amount to brighten or darken the image.

Adjust Red: ;ca_rs=255 ;ca_rs=-255
Specify the amount to brighten or darken the red color channel.

Adjust Green: ;ca_gs=255 ;ca_gs=-255
Specify the amount to brighten or darken the green color channel.

Adjust Blue: ;ca_bs=255 ;ca_bs=-255
Specify the amount to brighten or darken the blue color channel.

Swap Colors: Exchanges the color channels.

  • ;ca_sc=rg Swap red and green.
  • ;ca_sc=gb Swap green and blue.
  • ;ca_sc=br Swap blue and red.

Reverse Colors: Creates a negative image where bright areas are made dark, and dark areas are made light.

  • ;ca_rw=on Reverse red, green, and blue.
  • ;ca_rr=on Reverse red.
  • ;ca_rb=on Reverse green.
  • ;ca_rg=on Reverse blue.

Fill Color: ;fcolor=33DDFF
Specify the RGB color in hexidecimal to use to fill padded areas. If none is specified, white (FFFFFF) is used.

Compression Style: Optional setting that overides automatic style AI routines.

  • ;style=GIF
GIF Adaptive, or GIF Browser Safe if original was browser safe.
  • ;style=GIFA
GIF Adaptive; 256 color palette in 24 bit RGB color space.
  • ;style=GIFB
GIF Browser Safe; 216 color palette using 00, 33, 66, 99, CC, FF for RGB values.
  • ;style=GIFD
GIF Dithered; 216 color palette using 00, 33, 66, 99, CC, FF for RGB values.
  • ;style=GIFMD
GIF Monochrome Dithered; Dithered using 2, 4, 8, or 16 color grayscale.
  • ;style=JPG
JPEG with high-res or progressive if original had those attributes.
  • ;style=HJPG
    Higher Resolution JPEG.
  • ;style=PJPG
    Progressive JPEG.
  • ;style=HPJPG
    High Resolution Progressive JPEG.

Quality Level: ;quality=70
Overide automatic quality AI routines; quality level 5 to 95 for JPEG and number of colors (1 to 256) for GIF. Only used when a compression style is specified.

Compression Level:

  • ;comp=auto
The default setting if comp= was not specified. The line speed of the user determines the compression level.
  • ;comp=clean
Obvious waste is removed but the image is visually unchanged.
  • ;comp=light
automatic setting for T-1 (1.5Mb) linespeed.
  • ;comp=medium
automatic setting for DSL/Cable Modem (400Kb).
  • ;comp=heavy
    automatic setting for 56K modem.
  • ;comp=maximum
    automatic setting for 28.8K modem.
  • ;comp=extreme (comp=maximum1x)
    automatic setting for 14.4K modem.
  • ;comp=maximum2x ;comp=maximum3x ;comp=maximum=4x
additional compression for very low bandwidth situations.
  • ;comp=muchless
Automatic level minus 2 compression levels. (i.e. 56K user sees "light")
  • ;comp=less
Automatic level minus 1 compression level. (i.e. 56K user sees "medium")
  • ;comp=more
Automatic level plus 1 compression level. (i.e. 56K user sees "maximum")
  • ;comp=muchmore
Automatic level plus 2 compression levels. (i.e. 56K user sees "extreme")

Maximum File Size: ;size=12000
Specify a maximum file size. Compression will be increased until the file is small enough.

Interlace GIFs: ;interlace=on
Non-animated GIFs are output in interlaced fashion and load progressively.

Expiration: ;exp=60
By default, the new images expire in the browser after 24 hours or the timeout value if it is specified. You can override this default and specify a different value in minutes.
